The National Salsa Congress is celebrating in 2020 the 13th edition of the “Great Gathering of Dancers and Salsa Schools in Romania“. From an edition to another, the National Salsa Congress grew and developed quickly, thus becoming the biggest and waited event of the salsa community in Romania.
At the 13th edition of the National Salsa Congress there are invited Salsa schools from Arad, Bistrita, Braila, Brasov, Buzau, Bucuresti, Calarasi, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Focsani, Galati, Iasi, Mangalia, Oradea, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Satu Mare, Sfantu Gheorghe, Sibiu, Targoviste, Timisoara, Zalau and other places!
The Salsa Schools from Romania have presented every year spectacular shows, proving their skills and giving value to the show program every night within the National Salsa Congress. The NSC Stage offers the Romanian performers the chance to impress the public with unique, interesting and delightful shows earning its appreciation and sympathy.
The DJs of the National Salsa Congress have been always paying attention to the musical preferences of dancers and offered some of the most beautiful moments at the National Salsa Congress. Whether it’s Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Cha-cha-cha or other ‘more underground’ genres, the DJs of the National Salsa Congress always went high, and 2019, will be no exception for sure!
The MCs of the National Salsa Congress are the party starters of each night. The two MCs have been chosen carefully due to their energy, charisma and stamina. Although different personalities, the MCs have animated and offered unforgettable moments to all those present in the beginning of every night of the Congress. They will try to exceed their limits at the 10th edition of the congress.
The photographers of the National Salsa Congress are those who brought the event’s story even further through the photos they have taken every year. Their photos are the ones that make you notice the parties’ pulse and energy, the unbelievable atmosphere and the emotions that take place at the Congress. This year, stay put and smile at any moment, because a camera might be taking a shot at you.
As part of the new generation of independent latin orchestras, Tromboranga is the pure essence of “Salsa Dura”. Tromboranga´s spicy ingredients are the trombones sound, solid and strong percussion, and they recover the essence of “soneos” (voice improvisation among the chorus). With influences from the salsa music from the 60s and 70s, maintaining a raw, strong and a very danceable sound. Its original songs like “Humildad”, “Palo pa la campana”, “Ah Caraj”, “Mi China Colombiana”, talks about stories that can describe the life of any of us, and they have become number one in Latin radios and dance floors worldwide.
Mercadonegro was founded at the end of 2000 due to the influence of Salsa Dura. The band was gaining expierience in collaborations with artists like Celia Cruz, Alfredo de la Fe, Cheo Feliciano, Tito Nieves, and many others. The Mercadonegro project was founded by three Latin-American musicians who met by chance in Europe. They kept the musical flavor of Latin America and deided to sprea the sound of their homelands, launching new hits and vibes.
Efraín “Frankie” Morales is an artist who has perfected his craft with every stop along the way of his career. This talented vocalist has sharpened and shaped his sound for most of his life, starting on the streets of “El Barrio”, New York City’s Spanish Quarter and climaxing now on the stages of the world. His Mom sent him to Boys Harbor Conservatory in East Harlem to study voice and percussion after she realized the raw power and talent that her son displayed singing his “Sala Concerts”, those first performances for the family at home that gave birth to, and nurtured this entertainer of the future.
